RISACCA is a design and research laboratory that aims to promote innovative solutions on the reuse and recycling of waste from the fishing industry.

Community products, made by local fishermen and artisans, activating a process of reuse and recycling of waste from the fishing industry and plastic recovered from the sea, to create new opportunities for young people and artisans and regenerate the socio-cultural fabric by creating a participatory community and sensitive to the protection of the marine ecosystem. Risacca has born in Mazara del Vallo – a historic industrial center in transition – and are managed by young professionals with international experience.

Risacca has been awarded by Fondazione di Messina as an innovative project in circular economy field.
