Who & How
Who can participate?
Up to 80 people can participate in the workshops, including students, professionals, creatives and artists, regardless of age, from anywhere in the world.
You must apply via an official form.
How to participate?
You can participate as a Participant, Tutor or Volunteer. The Participant pays a fee to register for one of the workshops; the Tutor collaborates with the directors of the workshops for the training of the participants; the Volunteer collaborates with the Periferica team to manage the event. The profiles of each application are evaluated in order to form a more heterogeneous work group as possible. More info are provided during and after the application via an official form.
Non-European students
Invitation Letter & Visa
To reach Italy, you need a letter of invitation, which you will receive from Periferica after completing the form. Once completed, you will need to present it to your embassy or responsible institution. For info: http://vistoperitalia.esteri.it/home/en
I have already paid my participation fee. If my visa is refused, am I entitled to a refund?
Of course, we can refund 50% of the fee, excluding transaction fees, provided that the request is received by May 10th. It is possible to pay the fee even after having received the visa.

Accommodation
Where do you recommend sleeping?
Periferica offers 3 solutions, at variable costs, within the festival:
• Camping 50 €
• Shelter 150 €
• Apartment (Hub) 250 €
Alternatively, try to find something on Airbnb or Booking!
Does the camping solution include a tent?
No. The Camping solution includes space and related services. The tent is charged to the participant. You can buy a tent online by sending it to Periferica, or rent it once you arrive. Tent rental (2 seats) costs € 50 for the ten days.
What will be the venue of the festival?
Also visit Casa Periferica, the cultural park that will host all our activities.
Dates
What are the official dates of the workshops?
For Participants, dates are 1-10 August.
For Tutors and Volunteers considered 3 more days: 30 July – 11 August.
Are the dates flexible?
No, each edition begins months earlier, giving life to a process where the community is included.
Check-in / Check-out
In: 01 Aug. 09 – 13 registration; 14:00 welcome lunch.
Out: 10 Aug. includes the night of 10 August.
Payment
I have been selected. By when do I have to pay?
Within 4 days of receiving the confirmation email.
Is the participation fee for the workshop refundable?
We can refund 50% of the package (excluding transaction costs) for requests received by May 10th. since in view of the workshops the expenses for each participant are addressed, which cannot be reimbursed.
I paid but I can no longer participate.
Can another person do it for me?
Of course, you can fill out the application form here: here, in the final notes, you must however indicate that you will participate in your replacement.

When I’ll get payment confirmation from Periferica?
Within about 5 days of payment. After that, a check-in will be provided with all the useful information on what to bring and how to move.
Travel & Transportation
Airports and Shuttles
We suggest traveling to Trapani or Palermo. Both cities are about 90 minutes from Mazara, which can be reached in two ways:
• Taxi, average cost € 20, average duration 80 minutes

that can be booked directly at the airport.
Alternatively, you can also land in Catania, a 5-hour drive from Mazara.

We are in Mazara. How do we move?
Mazara is a small city, easily visited on foot.
Periferica is about 1 km from the city center. A shuttle is provided for excursions.
Workshop
How do I choose the right workshop for me?
On the official Call it is possible to have a quick overview of our architecture, design and communication workshops. Each of them deals with a specific theme, and is aimed at generating an impact on a specific project area, in synergy with the other participants. It is possible to give an indication on the chosen workshop already in the application phase through an official form, or once reached the Periferica micro-village.
How are the students divided into groups?
We promote teamwork and collaboration. Each workshop has a team leader and some tutors who will help each participant design and work. On the first day, you will be able to take part in a group of your choice.
Meals: which are included in the workshop package?
The package includes breakfast and 1 meal a day. The participants then have the opportunity to participate in the dinner together inside or outside Periferica.
Do we have to bring us some special clothes?
You will find these and other details in the check-in that we will send to you after payment.
You need to bring the computer?
At least 1 laptop for every two participants.

What is the participation fee?
Can change based on the period: the sooner you sign up, the more you save. The following are available:
20 places at 250 – 30% discount
40 places at 300 – 15% discount
20 places at 350 – normal

How accessible and useful are health services?
What are some security measures to make the campus safe?
We are 10 minutes away walk from the city hospital, and we have a first aid kit. Furthermore, some wood cutting tools can only be used by some experts. All participants are covered by insurance.
